Minimising stress to animals. Our cattle are not transported at all during their lives.
We prioritise the well-being of all our animals. At our farm they are raised in as stressless an environment as we are able to provide.
Our approach to cattle farming is compassionate. We allow our calves to be naturally weaned off their mothers, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients and care they need during their early days.
We are committed to providing our animals with the best possible care. They have access to shelter, protecting them from weather extremes, and ensuring their comfort throughout the year.
We don't breed for the arbitrary standards or maximizing output, we focus on a sustainable, self-reliant herd prioritising individual animal well-being.
For over two decades, we've cultivated a closed-loop system breeding hybrid dairy-beef cattle, free from the cruelties of markets and unnecessary culling. Our priorities? Ease of calving, good natural milk production, and healthy muscling for self-sufficiency, all naturally achieved via selective breeding within our herd. Why not pedigrees? We reject artificial constraints like "purebred" labels that often prioritize aesthetics over animal well-being. Our focus is on robust genetics for long-term survival and resilience. For example, we select for darker extremities, not for show rings, but because, research and observation show their susceptibility to cancer under harsh sun. Similarly, we avoid breeding for solely dark coats that lack the natural thermoregulation of lighter markings. The result? Happy, healthy cattle producing just the right amount of milk and meat for our self-sufficiency, without any external exploitation or cruelty.
While modern farming chases ever-higher yields through unnatural means, we prioritize a closed-loop, ethical system where the animals' well-being is paramount. This isn't just good for them, it's the sustainable, compassionate future of animal agriculture.

We are hobby farmers and our produce is home grown. The produce you'll find here is the excess from what we have grown for ourselves. Weather and pests affect how much we have to sell. Some years there is a lot and some years there is none. We produce a wide range of botanicals including
Our herbs:
Mint, Thyme, Oregano, Chives, Lemonbalm, Wormwood, and Lavender.
Our citrus range:
Lemon Lime Pink Grapefruit.
And our edible flowers:
Borage, Callendula, Lettuce and Pansy
As our range expands we'll add those products here.
If you would like to throw your weight behind us, we encourage you to join our email list so we can let you know of any new products we've added or if any out of stock lines are back.
If you decide to get on our email list we promise you won't be flooded with emails from us. We hate spam as much as the next person.
Expense! So much gets added in the process of paddock to pantry. By selling our produce online means you get to avoid wholesaler and supermarket profit margins, and before you ask, because of the seasonal nature and amounts available we don't sell at farmer's markets.
When available, we're happy to freight trees, and tubers like Horseradish and Jerusalem Artichokes when they are dormant.
Are only available on farm, during our open garden days. These are ticketed events which we don't hold very often. When we do we let customers know via email.
Our seeds are collected on farm. We collect from the strongest plants. And sell the seed that is excess to our need.
Genetically modified was a no-no for us from the very beginning. Our plants were originally sourced from heritage varieties and our seeds are from those original plantings. We take great pride in offering a superior product at reasonable cost.
When available our 3P hay comes in both round and small square bales.
Perennial, Palatable, Productive. Our mix combines multiple plant species with different strengths to create a diverse, nutritious, and long-lasting food source for your animals.
Organically grown: No herbicides or pesticides are used, making it safe for your animals and the environment.
Weed-free: The various plants compete with each other, naturally suppressing weeds without chemical intervention.
What's in our 3P hay mix?
Grasses: Annual ryegrass and soft leafed Tall Fescue offers serious competition for weeds and provides good palatability.
Legumes: Arrowleaf, Balansa and medic clovers fix nitrogen in the soil, as do lucerne and vetch while providing even higher levels of protein and fiber.
Optional oats: These add another boost of energy in drier years, but are avoided in wetter conditions.
Benefits of 3P hay?
Higher nutrition: The diverse mix of plants provides a wider range of vitamins, minerals, and protein for your animals.
Improved palatability: Animals tend to enjoy the variety of flavors and textures offered by a 3P mix.
Better soil health: The different root systems of various plants improve soil structure and fertility.
More resilient production: The diverse mix is less susceptible to pests and diseases, ensuring a reliable source of feed.
3P hay is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for high-quality, sustainable feed for their animals.
